Play mp3s on a CD player

Not all CD players will play mp3 recordings. If yours can't, use iTunes to convert an mp3 to the 'AIFF' format and 'burn' it onto a CD in four simple steps.

iTunes window showing where to add a file.
Having downloaded and installed the Mac or PC version (as appropriate) of the (free) iTunes program, launch it and select the Music LIBRARY, which is at the very top of the side panel.

Now drop an mp3 file into the large Music library window pane (on the right of the side panel). This will install it into iTunes.

Right–click on the file and select ‘Burn Playlist to Disc’.

Put a write–able CD in your CD/DVD writer.
Burn Settings window in iTunes
In the ‘Burn Settings’ window that now appears, check that the ‘Audio CD’ radio button is selected (as shown) and click Burn.

For a smaller file size, and as an alternative to the above, select ‘Create AAC version’ from the ‘Advanced’ drop–down menu in iTunes and burn that file.
