Sanskrit weekend, 20–22 July 2018
A special Sanskrit weekend took place in a student's home in Watford, north of London, in late July 2018, for all Arsha Vidya UK Sanskrit students, some of whom come from afar — Germany, for example.
The weekend ran for three very full days, beginning on Friday 20th, and covered quite a lot of ground.
After revising the Maheśvara Sūtras, the main topics covered were vowel and consonant sandhis. But there was much more besides: including numbers up to 100, passive and active voice, the nature of hard and soft consonants and a couple of common affixes such as the ktavat affix.
As always, the company was wonderful, the food excellent and the Sanskrit delightful (even if a little challenging at times!).
